Artifacts are a special type of item that released with the launch of the game, with new ones being added periodically, typically alongside new Cookies. Artifacts (similar to Equipment) can be equipped by Cookies to increase their stats and provide a unique effect. Most Cookies have something called a signature artifact, providing effects that typically benefit them more than others. Artifacts are primarily obtained through the Artifact Gacha, but some artifacts may additionally be obtained via Tales of Adventure rewards.

Default Effect[]

An artifact's default effect is a stat bonus that applies to any Cookie that has the artifact equipped. Typically, the stat bonus is in the ATK, HP, or DEF stats; with Common artifacts providing a 20% stat bonus, Rare providing a 25% bonus, and Epic providing a 35% bonus. However, there are many exceptions to this rule, with different artifact rarities providing different bonuses in stats such as CRIT Rate or Buff Amp.

Unique Ability[]

Artifacts additionally have a unique ability, a special effect that can further boost a Cookie's power. Most unique abilities have condition(s) that need to be met in order to trigger the effect, like how Morale Recharge requires the use of a Special Skill to trigger its ATK boost effect. Other abilities do not have conditions, meaning that their effect is active as long as the artifact is equipped. An example of this could be Rain of Forks, providing the equipped Cookie with a CRIT Rate boost to their Ultimate indefinitely.

For Common and Rare artifacts, unique abilities will apply to any Cookie that has the artifact equipped. For Epic artifacts, the unique ability only applies to Cookies that have an attack type matching the type of the artifact. A Cookie’s signature artifact will always match their attack type. If a Cookie's attack type does not match the artifact's, the equipped Cookie will only be able to benefit from the default effect, losing the effect of the unique ability.

Promotion[]

Below an artifact’s illustration is a set of five four-pointed stars that represent an artifact’s promotion level. Similar to Cookies and Equipment, players may promote their artifacts by taking duplicates and combining them into a single product. When an artifact is promoted, the effects granted by its unique ability are strengthened, making it worthwhile to combine many copies of an artifact into a single, upgraded copy. Default effects are not affected by artifact promotion.

Breaking Down[]

As a player progresses further into the game, they will likely begin to accumulate several copies of artifacts that they do not want or use. In this case, artifacts may be broken down in exchange for artifact fragments. Common artifacts will produce 1 fragment, Rare artifacts will produce 5 fragments, and Epic artifacts will produce 20 fragments when broken down. These fragments may be used in the Workshop to craft desired copies of Rare and/or Epic artifacts.
